Vinyl Toys That Make Me Smile

More toys!!! I know that I am an adult and all that, but toys are sooo awesome and these toys are meant for adult collectors like myself. Nerdy right? But you know you are jealous!

Hot anime figurine Will bought me from the hobby store.

Half & Half Tokidoki Moofia vinyl figurine.

Sanrio Hello Kitty Blind-boxed collectibles Will got me for Christmas. An Urban Outfitters exclusive. Series 2.

Little girl sitting under a tree. I love this one!

Plushies from Kinki Robot

On one trip to Kinki Robot, I was lucky enough to encounter a sale! I got each of these adorable plushies for only 5,000 won each.... This is like the equivalent of about $3.50 U.S. dollars. I love them! The plushies on top are Aquapods and on the bottom are baby Gloomy Bears. Is it love at first sight?

COEX Mania!

After my dentist appointment on Saturday morning, I thought "To hell with it!" And so I went ahead and hopped on the subway alone for an afternoon of exploring around the COEX mall. The mall is the largest shopping mall in Korea and is connected directly to the Samseong Station and above is the Korean World Trade Center and a huge convention center. The mall also contains a huge aquarium, the Kimchi Field Museum, and a huge 16-screen Multi-Plex Movie Theatre.

After riding a super crowded subway for 45 minutes standing up the whole way, my little sniffly nose had turned into a sneezing, coughing mess so I knew my day of fun was pretty limited. Luckily, the whole thing is indoors and underground so I didn't even have to bear any cold weather! Ha ha!

Most Koreans here wear face masks when they get sick to guard others from their illness. Since I was completely and obviously ill, I felt kind of bad and deserving of the dirty looks I would receive while blowing my nose or sneezing. Eh. I don't feel whole to blame for getting sick, seeing as most Koreans (including adults) never wash thier hands after going to the restrooms, spit all over the place, and insist on having every door and window in the building open, even though it is negative degrees outside. And I work with thier germy little kids. Should I be wholey to blame? I am going to go with NO!

So anyway, I did some things to cheer me up while there! I ate a really good hamburger at CRAZE BURGER. Sooo good! I had heard about the place online so I decided to go for it. The little restaurant was all filled up so I decided to get my order To-Go thinking that I could head up to the food court and eat it there. Well, I got to the food court and it was under construction so I had no other option besides eat the burger while sitting on a bench. Apparently Koreans don't eat on benches cause I was attracting lots of looks. Maybe the burger just looked delicious and they wanted one?

There are some really awesome stationary shops there that I was just going crazy over. Everything they carry is super cute and amazing and I had to resist buying the whole store out. I did, however, pick up a super sweet DIY Lego Calender. How cool is that? And, I found the Kinki Robot kiosk while there and picked up a Tokidoki Cactus Pup and a few more of the adorable zipper pulls that I love so much.

Did I mention the Hello Kitty Chuck Taylor style shoes that I picked up at the Sanrio store? Score!!! So perfectly adorable and only 13,000 won!

One of the cute zipper pull guys I got. Isn't he cute?!

The sweet box for my Tokidoki Cactus Pup. I swear, I am worse than a kid when it comes to toys!

The best stickers I think I have ever got! These little googly eyed guys can make pretty much anything adorable.

I had to use the cutest ones on my Nintendo DS. Adorable!

Um, I found this at a children's toy store and was thinking "WTF!?"
Drug Freak?! Obviously the kid who is carrying this around has to be pretty clueless.

A cute card I picked up at one of the fantastic stationary shops at the COEX.

From Japan comes Smery and Friends, the nose plugging guy that closely resembles tofu.

The remainder of my weekend has been spent nursing my cold so that I can be capable of teaching come tomorrow morning. Uh!

Ooooh! New Glasses!

Look! I got new glasses! Yay!

I was happy to find a pair of frames that seem comfortable and fit my face and getting glasses made here is quick and easy. I just picked out a pair a cute pair and the price on the frames included everything. They put your old glasses in a machine that reads the prescription and your new glasses are ready in about 10 minutes. Simple as that! I chose one of the expensive pairs at the store and it still only ended up costing me $80 bucks. Sounds like I will be getting more cute frames here in the recent future:)

Also, I am modeling my incredible necklace that I made this weekend at the Kid Robot store. My kids have been going nuts for this necklace and so have I for that matter! The kids love playing with them and one of the charms is glow-in-the-dark, which is AMAZING to them!

It is getting cold as hell here and I need to stock up on winter things such as sweaters, a coat, mittens, scarves, a hat, and boots. Unfortunately, I am an ungodly huge beast of a woman compared to the cutesy-wootsie little bitty Koreans and as a result, pretty much nothing fits me here. All I really want is a winter coat! Sheesh! Nothing makes you feel like more of a hideous freak than having the trendy storekeepers snicker at you as you pointlessly try on sweaters that would never fit over your huge man-like shoulders. I did not have this problem back home so I can't help but to feel akward about the whole stuff not fitting EVER situation. Sigh.

And my job has been crazy busy to the point where I didn't get to eat lunch or take much of a break all day. I am as hardworking as the next person but I cannot help but to feel a bit frustrated at the end of the day. Just as I get one thing done, its like "Oh yeah, now could you just do this and that?" Guess that's why they call it work, right?!?! This week, we have the monthly tests, a Halloween party and festivities, and I have to do more stuff with the crazy play that my preschoolers are performing. I just need to psych myself up that its already Wednesday so I am practically almost finished with the week!

Now if I can just figure out what to be for Halloween......

My Kid Robot and Dunny Toys Galore!!!!!

Oh goodie! Oh fun! I am sooo overjoyed to buy tons of Kid Robot toys at Kinki Robot in Hongdae. I spent more money on toys than the average adult should but whatever. The Korean Won is down so low that I might as well spend a nice wad of cash over here. The exchange rate is down to the point where I could be flipping burgers back home at McDonalds and making more. Eh. Whatever. I guess having a good time is ok too!
